IRS targets Diablo 3 RMAH - Page 2

[:1]The RMAH is not that different than using Ebay. In the case of Ebay it is the responsibility of the individual to claim and file taxes and there is nothing to be done on the ebay side. I don't see how the RMAH would be any different.|||On Diablo 2 all the items "belong to Blizzard". They are never yours legally. I suppose this would be the same on D3.

I believe it is different in the sense that you aren't selling your property. I suppose you would be selling a service, but then again that can still be taxed as well.

Either way, slim chance indeed people will make enough money for the IRS to care. I know I'll be spending more anyway |||E-Bay is a good analogy, I think.|||Quote:

Think about it. Who has the time necessary (or the wrist health to click so much) to actually make much money in this game? Aren't many of the item sellers in China anyway with storefront businesses operating from a PO box in Europe and the US? What one person can farm that much stuff to make any real money? Who has that kind of time? Bots are banned every so often so you would have to make new bots and new accounts to use then in anyway.

On a side note, you can earn up to $600 and pay no taxes here in the States.

However unlikely it seems, remember, this is the internet. Most people won't be arsed to make any money at all, but there will always be a few hardcore people who figure out a way of making **** loads.

IMHO ofc!|||I think the earning potential for D3 is going to be a lot, lot less than what some people think it will be - at least if you live in a developed country.
