IGN: The Ten Commandments of Diablo III

[:1]Nothing really new, just a nice re-cap of D3's features:

http://au.pc.ign.com/articles/119/1192549p1.html|||IGN might as well just copy/paste a press release from Blizzard themselves. There is no true opinion from the writer anywhere in there.

The comments from people are always entertaining though :-)|||well. often one wants to be neutral?|||"Demon Hunter = bad-***. That's mathematics, punk."

Who came up with this? Was it blizzard, cause if it was the game is in deep trouble..|||Quote:

Bwaha. So if it's not critical of the game, or doesn't echo your complaints, it's not a true opinion.

God you're pathetic.

Not at all Mr Alt-account guy. But "real" stories tend to have things like

"This is a change from ... and we'll see how it works"

"I took a look at ... and I think..."

Articles that are 100% positive, with 100% positive language throughout tend to be glorified advertisements. The writer, an editor, has used this "the 10 commandments of" format many times... in fact, he used it for Diablo 3 in 2008 after the Paris reveal. (link)

Gamesradar's version, for MW3, in comparison: http://www.gamesradar.com/9-reasons-...y-worth-money/

Oh hey! look! written by a senior editor (and another editor) and with zero negative connotations. What a coincidence. And it's even a "# of XXX" format too. Crazy.

The format is for site identification, page visits and free advertising. Take that as you will, nearly every webpage does it, some just get their checks from different sources. I just wish these news outlets would allow their writers / themselves to write it as they see it, not how the press release tells them to see it.|||I dunno. I read a lot of 100% positive reviews of Starcraft II, after it was out. Free ads? Or awesome game?|||Quote:

It strikes me as primarily an information piece, not an opinion piece. Naturally most of the information is going to come from press releases, since it's a little tough to check the primary source for yourself right now.|||Which do you think will happen first: The problems with D3 will be fixed, or this guy will make one alt for every other person on this board? I think it's a toss up at this point.
