If I were an investor I would think exactly what I think as a gamer: I see no particular evidence of what is delaying the game, and I don't care how long its delayed as long as it's good.|||Quote:
Well you could say this about any game feature. What if they were holding up the beta for runestones? Would that be an acceptable feature to wait for? Who determines which features are acceptable to wait for and which are not?
Runestones I would admit probably a feature I would wait for but that is a feature that has been tested before and worked with prior games. However a new feature that some people aren't so positive about (RMAH) not so much. I've posted this based on an article on the front page that was removed not to long ago. But my reasoning behind this is more on the point why hold up production for something not drastically important for a program that can wait for a later update. The game will be on server so you would be oppted to download it before logging in anyways.|||It didn't say beta I thought they were talking about actual game release for 2011. Or that was at least what my news feed showed.
Blizzard Quote: (Source)
“comes down to a lot of moving parts, auction house not fully tested, were not in beta, AH may not ready for prime time, brand new infrastructure with a lot of moving parts"|||Why is it not drastically important? It's a feature of the game. Maybe they feel that if it isn't there when the game releases that it won't gain the support required for it to work. Which would make all the effort put into it pointless. Maybe they feel that introducing it later would cause more backlash than it already has. There are plenty of reasons to make sure the whole game is done before releasing it. I just don't see why this feature is any less important.|||Maybe it was release but still wouldn't it be important to set up a release for black friday to maximize revenues?|||Quote:

drastically important implies GUI, movement controls, Image fixtures, etc. features are additives to the game that enhance game play rather than making it functional. RMAH is a fun feature but I still can't see why a new idea shouldn't wait later just like the added features of runewords in D2. A positive side to waiting for it would be to get all the bugs out and make sure they have a vendor for the feature to support them. And as you said a positive for releasing it at launch is less back lash. But both are speculation rather than fact.|||Quote:

duh I'm an idiot. I started thinking full game release. We're talking about beta. Yeah for the beta I don't see why it needs to be ready. My bad.|||Can someone explain what the hell is going on in this thread?
1. Where did Blizzard say beta is delayed?
2. Where did Blizzard say DIII is delayed?
3. Where is Muggs bluequote from?|||I believe that the blue quote is from the August 1 (?) investor call.|||So, basically, this thread is about a delay that hasn't actually happened or been indicated or hinted at?
WTF people.
