Wait a minute...
They'll do the opposite. Microtransactions to be able to take off your starfish hat. |||I seem to be showing up late to these posts, but OP is suffering from a severe case of chicken little.|||Quote:

What, you don't think Blizzard is intentionally killing the Diablo franchise??|||Quote:

Damn straight! In fact... They resurrected it only to kill it again! Those vicious bastards!

Please stop spouting this nonsense.
Hate to break it to ya, mr two-poster...
But the last ATVI CC was chock-full of commitments to bigger and better margins and download-oriented monetization attempts.
Like it or not, Bobby's (or the even more frightening Tommy Tippler's) fingerprints are all over the RMAH, in letter and spirit. Of course, the five-year deal signed when the merger happened provided plenty of lube for the puppeteers' hands up the Bliz execs' posteriors.
Sure, the French may technically own the shop, but Bobby didn't agree to the deal because he disliked the idea of still being able to milk billions of options cash from WoW revenue even if most of his "core franchises" promptly wilted (which they almost all did - and that can be changed to ALL did if sledgehammer lays an egg).
Riddle me this - how many seats on the board does Blizzard have? Why is that?|||Companies will pursue any avenue that leads them to the fat lewtz. It they had the means to do all this decades ago, they would have already done it. Whether you/we/us/them like it does not really matter. If it is profitable they will do it, and the only way to be profitable is if consumers want it.
That said I don't think of blizzard as a bad company, they consistently put out decent/good products and always do things with a twist. RMAH is NOT the worst monetization scheme ever. In fact its one of the best around imho. They could have just opened shop with monocle's for 60$ dollar and be done with it. As it is now both players and blizzard can profit.

If they had it their way, they would shut down starcraft and diablo, and just run mmos.
So they just spent 6 years of developing something they didn't want? Blizzard will NEVER let the Diablo/Starcraft franchise die as it is a very profitable franchise, they will hire new developers for MMO's when/if needed. Not every diablo player wants to play MMO. By cutting off these franchises they will not be able to empty out those pockets.
Also if you look at them on the interviews/panels you can see their excitement about Diablo. Game development is HARD work. You dont work that hard for something you dont believe in.

you think rmah is bad? you think pay to play is bad? you think miscellaneous micro transactions are bad? wait until titan comes out.
If you have any real facts speak up, otherwise its just scaremongering.|||i find it ridiculous to judge over something that is to happen in 2 or 3 years... just ridiculous :-/|||D3 is a testcase to see if they can get away with micro transactions in the same way with Titan. In which case I won't be playing Titan either.

I'm not expecting much more than a free pizza and a few sodas out of it.
Love the RMAH butthurts though.
How old are you? 10... 12... 14 max maybe? If you're any older I just feel sorry for you.
