On the nature of negativity. - Page 5

[:1]I recommend you never visit RPG Codex. That site is 95% whining about how all RPGs suck. Except for Fallout 2 and Arcanum, of course. People simply thrive on negativity, it's their life blood. The day they enjoy something is the day they give in to the mainstream sheep and follow the masses to doom. Insert Fight Club quote here.|||Quote:

I'd like to hear some feedback on why some posters maintain an almost constant negative posture to not only the game, it's design and development, but also to the readers, posters and the concept of debate.

Specific to Diablo forums, some people are looking forward to the escape, they are possibly driven to feel they 'need' the escape in their lives or immerse themselves in another world .. perhaps they are unhappy or perhaps they have a void to fill. As the Beta draw's near it is upsetting people as they feel they will be missing out regardless of how limited the beta is or how much information is shared.

Then again there are Trolls about .. and some people are simply glass half empty ...

This is what happens when you make games that are more than just games, but part of peoples lives. They have a large stake in it and want to ensure it's being taken care of.

For a bit of positive spin, I am obsessed looking forward to the Beta and cannot wait to play my Wizard with a few mates .. just like the good old days!

Edit: .. new thought .. we are a collection of like minded individuals, who, in our spare time .. like to visit hellish worlds and face unimaginable horrors .. and slaughter countless demons .. perhaps forum negativity .. comes naturally|||People dont want to see what they love changed and ruined so they attack.

How they feel cant often be summed up in words as to why.
