Builds I cant wait to try - Page 3

Hypothetically, of course. I'm just saying it's extremely unlikely the game will be balanced enough that all the skills will really be good and viable through the whole game. Hope for "most", but don't hold your breath for "all".

I'm obviously ignoring the skills that will be broken/crap/bugged nomatter what.

Pretty much all other skills that will work will be pop-a-mole when level 7 skill runed and decent Inferno geared.

I also was careful enough not to say "all", meaning "you really have to try your best to pick the 6 skills that make a unviable character", ie. konfeta's example (which ironically asks more knowledge from the player then just picking whatever random skills).

Edit: btw, i like the challenge put forth. |||You should also try a Barbarian with Sprint/Charge/LeapAttack/ThrowWeapon/Harpoon/Shockwave.

Though, personally, I hope that will be a perfectly viable skirmisher build and not just a gimmick build.|||Which runes?|||I have no idea. Probably the runes that make the most sense are resource cost/CC oriented. I assume the trait that prevents Fury degeneration will also be very important for a skirmisher.

An important question skillwise is - is Weapon Throw a fury consuming or fury generating attack; and how good is leap attack at generating fury? It's quite possible that Harpoon would have to be replaced by another fury generating skill for sake of allowing the skirmisher enough fury to actually use the skills.|||Konfeta..how charge and Harpoon fits into your skirmisher build?

Also ..which attacks is generating fury? because if Throw Weapons isn't, you have a problem

Of course, feel free to play anything you want.. I am just curious.|||Skirmisher isn't just a ranged attacker. A skirmisher is supposed to be capable in both melee and ranged. More of a hit and run character overall. I don't think purely ranged barb at all will be viable because they aren't even allowed ranged weapon usage or Fury generation from ranged attacks in general.

Though, in terms of "build to dick around with," a purely ranged barb is certainly something someone should try. Harpoon and Charge would have to be replaced by Ground Stomp and the shout that generates fury, though.

As I understand Ground Stomp, Leap Attack, and Warcry are the "burst" fury generating abilities.

Another dick around build would probably be a melee Witch Doctor and a melee Demon Hunter - both don't really have good support in terms of skills/traits to be true melee fighters it seems.

edit: Oh Lawd, I just lookd over Barbarian's list of passives. Enter: "Relentless" - when under 20% HP, skills do not cost any fury and you gain 50% damage reduction. I think I just found the holy grail out of which the greatest hardcore player should have his balls cast. Combine that passive with a fully ranged load out and your beard will grow a beard.|||Call 'em "passives" not "traits", my friend.

The wizard seems like the obvious thing to try hehe|||In the pre-D2 days, the forums were filled with people designing their builds around what we then thought the game would be like. It was fun. We were, without exception, all wrong. Anyone who tries to do the same for D3 will also be wrong. But it can still be fun. (Though, IMO, it's a lot less fun to think about without points and the possibility of freespecs.)|||Quote:

I'm also boycotting "passives". "Traits" is shorter, has more flavor and since they were first called that they haven't changed at all. For these reasons I see no point in calling them anything else. And so hear me, everybody, if you use the term "traits" you should know, that you won't be alone. We are "trait"ers and we are many.

Also, I support the Super Saiyan barb build.
